PROPOSAL FOR 15M T-MOBILE PHONE MAST ON MONKSDALE ROAD

Local Lib Dem Councillor Shaun McGall has found out that T-Mobile will shortly be submitting a planning application to site a mobile phone mast at the electricity sub-station on Monksdale Road, adjacent to Linear Park and opposite the Sandpits play area.

15m MAST

The proposed mast is a single 15m high pole and is to provide 2G and 3G coverage to the Oval area.

Mast sharing rejected

According to T-Mobile’s agents the Mobile phone operator has looked at other sites in the area, including sharing existing masts in the area with other operators, but they have not found any suitable locations.

Your local Lib Dem team anticipate that there may be many strong views from the community about this mast. Local campaigner Will Sandry stated, "We are therefore advising members of the community to look out the formal planning application and then make their views, either in favour or against, on this proposed mast at that stage. We will endeavour to keep you informed by letter, when the application is received and will also post additional information on this site".
