Gay & lesbian friendly…and proud of it!

Bath & North East Somerset Council has been rated as the twenty-fifth best employer for lesbians and gay men in Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index (WEI) 2007 - which features the top 100 employers in the UK for lesbian and gay people.

Oldfield Ward Lib Dems are pleased with the Council's 2007 rating. The competition was of a much higher standard this year, and the Council had to produce clear evidence of the improvements it had made. Some the Council's key achievements included developing the programme of staff training in sexuality issues and the Council's continuing commitment to tackle homophobia in our community, through workshops within schools and its involvement in the local Partnership against Hate Crime.
