Consultation on proposed Arlington Rd / Shaftesbury Rd junction improvements
Improvements are proposed for the T-junction of Arlington Road and Shaftesbury Road to try and reduce car accidents at this busy junction.
Following local residents contacting us, we have persuaded the Council to fund improvements at this junction to make it safer for pedestrians and all other road users.
The proposals include extending the pavement beside No. 25 Shaftesbury Road, providing additional white hatched road markings from outside No. 14 Arlington Road to the proposed extended pavement. The final part of the proposal is to re-paint and enhance the road markings. The current signs & posts will remain in their current location.
There has been at least one car accident in the last three years have caused personal injury and there have been numerous other incidents at this junction. Hopefully these proposals will help reduce the potential for future accidents.
We would welcome and appreciate any comments from residents on this proposal by Friday 24th Nov. 2006, so that these safety measures can be implemented as soon as possible.
